Short answer: Jojoba “oil” is technically a liquid wax rich in long-chain wax esters, while squalane is a fully saturated hydrocarbon made by hydrogenating squalene. Both can reduce rough feel and improve slip without supplying much water. Squalane is generally very oxidation-stable; jojoba is also relatively stable for a botanical material.
